Ben Kallos' proposed legislation gives just cause protections for health care workers and any other worker who is deemed essential by the City or State preventing them from being fired for speaking publicly about conditions at their job.

Doctors, nurses, administrative staff, food service workers, are putting themselves on the line every day to care for sick New Yorkers and keep our city moving.
But these same heroic workers have faced retaliation for speaking out against unsafe conditions at their workplaces.
Ben's proposed legislation, co-sponsored with several members of the New York City Council, gives them just cause protections for health care workers and any other worker who is deemed essential by the City or State preventing them from being fired or retaliated against for taking steps to protect their safety in this crisis or speaking publicly about conditions in their institutions.
