Education
More than half a million children in New York State are left alone and unattended after school as city parents are working the longest hours in the country. After school programs keep young people positively engaged and productive after school—when they are most likely to get into trouble.
This is why we need Universal After School, citywide. It will increase and equalize educational opportunities, keep kids safe and out of the criminal justice system, and make life easier for parents whose jobs keep them at work long after their children get out of school.
Help us keep our children safe by expanding Universal After School from Middle Schools to all 1.1 million public school students in NYC by signing our petition now.
